Overview

Easy Transition

Kuul Play began its journey with the Rubicon Centre in August 2020, when founder Clare McSweeney, a former national athletics champion and all-American athlete, was selected as a participant in the Enterprise Ireland New Frontiers Phase 2 programme which ran from October to March 2020. During the six month programme, Clare received mentorship and funding support to assist her in getting Kuul Play up and running and was subsequently selected to participate in New Frontiers Phase 3 from April to June 2020, receiving further funding, support and mentorship through the Rubicon Centre. Clare’s participation in the New Frontiers programmes was followed by her successful application to the Enterprise Ireland Competitive Start Fund (CSF) in May 2020, where she received funding and supports that helped to further accelerate Kuul Play’s growth and increase its capacity to succeed in global markets.

Amazing Results

Fledgling company Kuul Play is going from strength to strength following the company’s participation in the Enterprise Ireland New Frontiers and Competitive Start Fund progammes at the Rubicon Centre. In Ireland, clients already include Athletics Ireland and Sport Ireland Sports Partnerships while the company has also sold a pilot in the US.

“We initially joined the Rubicon Centre in September 2020 for six months through the New Frontiers Programme Phase 1, receiving funding and mentoring support. After participating in the programme, I was selected for New Frontiers Phase 3 which means I received an extra three months of support. I am delighted that Kuul Play was one of the tiny but elite group of fledgling companies chosen to avail of the sought-after third phase of the New Frontiers programme. The mentorship and support I have received from staff at the Rubicon Centre through these programmes has been vital in achieving success for the company, particularly with regard to opening doors to overseas markets.”
