We’re delighted to welcome fourteen Munster Technological University and two Endicott College students to the Rubicon Centre this summer for the Student Inc. Accelerator Programme, 2024.
This week marks week five out of the thirteen, which means our students are officially one month into the beginning of their start-up journey. So far, they have been busy attending sessions from industry experts and experienced entrepreneurs, conducting customer discovery research for their respective businesses, all while integrated in the rich and established network of entrepreneurs and facilities that the Rubicon Centre has to offer.
The milestone was marked by a formal review at the start of the week with Helen Murphy of Cork City Local Enterprise Office and Sean O’Sullivan of Local Enterprise Office South Cork, where students got a chance to pitch their idea and get guidance and advice on where they stand at present with their business venture.
The participants come from a diverse range of disciplines and academic backgrounds, with business ideas ranging from innovative food products to care tracking applications, creative media services and many more.
Outside of their work here, students have enjoyed a visit to Benchspace Cork, Ireland’s first creative manufacturing hub offering professional equipment, space and support for businesses to grow right at the edge of Cork city, as well as Cork Incubator Kitchens, where our two food entrepreneurs got to experience the supports available for existing and emerging food ventures.
If you would like to follow the students journey, you can keep up to date with our official Student Inc LinkedIn page or Instagram Account
See the students’ hard work in person at our public showcase on the 22nd August at the MTU Tourism and Hospitality Building. More details about that soon!
